Suzanne Rogers I am sleeping outside on November 15 with hundreds of other business leaders and top corporate executives from all across the country so that homeless youth don’t have to. Sleep Out: Executive Edition is a unique event that will be taking place simultaneously at Covenant House locations all across the United States and Latin America. Why am I sleeping out? I have to thank Arlene Dickenson for this opportunity. It is like nothing I have ever done and I won't say I am not a little anxious but I know that this is truly a wonderful cause to support and if I can help raise awareness of Toronto's vulnerable children in need, I must do it. Ten thousand kids spend some time living on the streets of Toronto each year. For three decades, Covenant House Toronto has offered some 82,000 homeless kids the opportunity and hope to move from a life on the street to a life with a future. There are countless more out there that need our help. As Canada’s largest youth shelter, Covenant House Toronto provides 24/7 crisis care and has the widest range of services under one roof, including education, counselling, health care, employment assistance and job training.
By participating in this event I am doing my small part to make sure the doors stay open for all who need them. |
